War

Life lived king-size hitherto
Seems poised to be turned upside down.
A battle looks all but evitable
For worrying news is doing the rounds
The news that a new kitty is on its way.
‘Don’t let that furry thing inside!
Don’t let it grab your territory!’
It woof-woofs to itself restlessly.
‘Is there a way out of this battle?’
A thought crosses its mind.
‘Maybe. Care to share the bed?
Nah, it’s too cozy.
Mind rationing your daily plate of fish?
Nope, it’s too delicious.
Uhm, can the master atleast rub it’s belly?
Not really, let that ticklish delight be mine.
Okay, then war it is’.
Damn! It shakes it’s head as the truth hits it hard.
‘Here I go, baby!’, it tells itself
Before stretching and flexing its muscles.
Fire of fury in its eyes
Weapon of claws in its paws
Urge for glory in its heart
It stands guard outside the house
Decked up as a passionate soldier
Too vigilant to even stand four-legged
Ready to go all-out any moment
With a fiery demeanor that seems to say
‘Ahoy kitty! Dare you walk past this Super Dog!’
