This story is a take on child labour.

The term “child labor” is often defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. It refers to work that:

  • is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful to children; and/or
  • interferes with their schooling by: depriving them of the opportunity to attend school; obliging them to leave school prematurely; or requiring them to attempt to combine school attendance with excessively long and heavy work.

This post is written in response to the Saturday six word story prompt hosted by Shweta.
Thank you for the prompt Shweta!

      1. I noticed recently that ‘we’ have young readers here too would you know if they are sufficiently guided and protected… I noticed that, as I have, liked a post or two and Suma seems to be a favourite….I worry about age appropriate content…

          1. yep. it is a question. Apple have back peddled on safeguarding. WP, as well as UK Gov, are silent too. So, I ask the question. How do we know that younger users are not unduly exposed to age inappropriate stuff… A valid question in my view…. it’s not about finger pointing yet asking about this is important, nó?

            1. Yeah, you have a point I think. But I think its a very difficult one to answer :O I guess we just have to hope kids are not carried away by age inappropriate content. These days, you find all kinds of content online right, so I doubt WP having checks in place would do much to protect the young minds. Just my opinion.
